Patent search: no novelty-destroying prior art

An independent worldwide patent search has reviewed our technology against international patent databases and scientific publications. Ten patent families were found — none of them an obstacle to novelty or inventive step.
Our technology is patent pending. To know where we stand, we had an independent patent firm carry out a worldwide search: international patent databases, scientific publications and publicly available technical disclosures within laser-based delousing, parasite detection, monitoring and treatment.
The search identified ten patent families in the field. All of them were classified as category A — documents representing the general state of the art, not considered particularly relevant to novelty or inventive step. No category X or Y documents were found.
In plain terms: the search found no prior art standing in the way of the invention being novel. The assessment concludes that the technology is differentiated from what already exists, and that it has a patentability position to build on.
We are clear about what this is and is not: a patentability assessment is not a granted patent. Our applications have been filed and are pending. But it is a solid starting point for the continued work of protecting the technology.
